Snowy Owl
Excerpt from the poetry collection Drifting into Realms Aglow
Gold eyes, sharp and knowing,
Nestled in the tundra’s frozen quilt,
You vanish into a mirage of snow,
Only to burst forth—
Wings outstretched, broad as winter’s horizon,
Clawed feet sheathed in down,
A shadow ascends,
Cutting the sky with silent power.
The cold gnaws at the world,
But it cannot pierce you.
Your stare—a sun above this endless white—
Burns through the veil of ice.
You are winter’s sovereign—
Composed, unyielding,
A riddle of wisdom carved in feathers.
The Mountain’s Flooded Trail
Excerpt from the poetry collection Drifting into Realms Aglow
I walk along the river’s edge,
Where swollen waters rise and rage,
Torrents yellow, fierce and wild—
Unchained, untamed, the earth defiled.
After the storm, the sky still weeps.
I stand on the arched footbridge,
Where the river leaps in white, foamy bursts—
Submerging roots in a trembling trance.
Where Wildfire Roams
Excerpt from the poetry collection Drifting into Realms Aglow
Low-hanging haze, like ink bleeding through,
Thick smoke smothers the plains,
Erasing the distant horizon.
The sun, blood-red, blurred like a crimson moon,
Its light fractured by veils of ash.
The air turns sharp,
Choked by the scent of scorched earth.
Symphony of Wings
Excerpt from the poetry collection Drifting into Realms Aglow
As morning wakes, the world remakes,
Vibrant calls pierce silken veils.
Birds ascend in graceful arcs,
Tracing peaks where mountains prevail.
